The only drawback is that the robot is known to smash into walls and objects at full speed. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating dual cameras that can detect objects, and determine if they are walls or other surfaces. It then can alter its direction in a way that is automatic and clean around them without stumbling.
It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which resumes the cleaning mop button, which doubles as a child lock, and a home-button to take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml tank of water. The water tank automatically empties and the bin automatically refills.
The only negative I found with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if needed) however, it's a hassle to remove the mount for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of intelligent features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to plan cleanings and monitor battery life. You'll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.

The app is user-friendly and simple to use, and the X40's smart features are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, alter modes, look at floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's finished.
